Training Manager Job Description
Job Summary:
At TempWorks, the Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the training department and supervising the Corporate Trainers. The Training Manager works closely with cross-functional departments—including but not limited to IT, Marketing, Product, Sales, Account Management, Implementation, and Support—to develop and maintain a comprehensive curriculum of software and product training. This includes needs assessment, course development, delivery, and evaluation of program effectiveness. The Training Manager also plays a key role in ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency of the training function, keeping pace with product updates and evolving business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily activities of Corporate Trainers
- Responsible for coordinating new hire orientations and ongoing staff training
- Oversees timekeeping procedures and provides payroll approval
- Implements annual performance evaluations and conducts frequent one-on-one check-ins with team members
- Responsible for implementing appropriate disciplinary action, including up to termination
- Manages capacity planning for the training team to ensure alignment with organizational priorities
General Responsibilities:
- Partners with internal departments to identify training needs and deliver tailored solutions that drive performance and product adoption
- Leads, schedules, and conducts both classroom and virtual training sessions for diverse learner audiences (1 to 20+ participants)
- Facilitates trainer teach-backs and one-on-one feedback sessions to promote ongoing professional development
- Coordinates and leads Beyond Webinars and other client-facing sessions in collaboration with Corporate Trainers, Senior Project Managers, and company leadership
- Develops and maintains up-to-date training documentation and learning materials, incorporating new product releases and enhancements regularly
- Continuously reviews the training program to identify improvement opportunities, increase efficiency, and ensure alignment with current best practices and business goals
- Oversees the planning and execution of corporate training involvement at TempWorks' annual company event, including running presentations and ensuring full participation from the training team
- Coordinates and runs all webinars, ensuring content is current and valuable to clients
- Supports internal teams by delivering or coordinating departmental training as needed
- Handles training-related client escalations, providing resolution and follow-up
- Actively seeks opportunities to keep internal staff trained on product updates, enhancements, and new tools
- Provides strategic insight, product analysis, and feedback to key stakeholders
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of training procedures, CRM systems, and instructional best practices
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable presenting to and engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- 1+ years of experience in software training or an equivalent role in staffing, payroll, sales, or project management
- 2+ years of leadership or managerial experience
- Strong client management skills with the ability to deliver professional and effective presentations
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and adapt to evolving priorities
- Proven experience developing clear, concise training content for diverse audiences
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical concepts effectively
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 35% of the time, with an expectation of traveling once per month, if needed
- Valid driver’s license preferred
The pay range for this role is: $90,000 - $130,000
