Account Manager Job Description


Job Summary:

At Lone Oak Payroll, the Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our clients to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and growth. This includes communicating with our clients on their needs and selling them additional products/services that match their business needs. The Account Manager is also responsible for consulting with clients on strategies to improve and protect their business while ensuring compliance with the Agreement.  


General Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with existing clientele to ensure customer satisfaction of Lone Oak Payroll’s service offerings as well as adherence to the funding agreement
  • Respond to client’s needs as they arise and strengthen client relationships by resolving service-related issues
  • Proactively communicate strategies to clients regarding improvements that could be made to drive growth and efficiencies
  • Promote and sell to the client’s need for the adoption of a new TempWorks Software product or Lone Oak Payroll service
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews of clients to identify needs such as integrations, add-on modules, areas for improvement, and areas where Lone Oak Payroll can improve upon. Sell upgrades, services, and add-on products to existing customer base
  • Identify the need to strengthen relationships with clients when the account is in jeopardy and work with Management to formulate and execute a plan of action
  • Monitor custom data including funding rates, credit limits, client anniversary, unique client needs and details, and contract end dates 
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins with Payroll Teams to review client base
  • Manage Voyager ticket submission process
  • Manage order submission process in TWOnline
  • Manage communication to clients regarding company-wide initiatives such as year-end W2 processing, retirement of products, and new Federal regulations that affect the client base
  • Submit product enhancement requests and open support tickets for issues brought by clients that apply to a wide range of Lone Oak’s client base to create improvements for the entire client base
  • Travel onsite to visit clients 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced understanding of Account Management procedures and systems such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Software
  • Ability to work independently


Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in an Account Management or similar role, preferably in a software/technology/Fintech company
  • Ability to effectively interact with various levels of management/ownership and staff both externally with clients and internally
  • Temporary Staffing, Recruiting industry, or Factoring experience preferred


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
  • Ability to travel onsite to visit clients up to 30% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license preferred


The pay range for this role is: $71,000 - $105,000
